Six Militants Arrested in Manipur, Arms and Ammunition Seized
In the state of Manipur in India, police and soldiers from a group called the Assam Rifles worked together to catch six bad people.
These people belong to groups that the government has banned, like gangs that are not allowed to operate.
The arrested people are accused of doing bad things, such as kidnapping people and forcing them to pay money.
When the forces caught them, they found guns, bullets, radios and other items.
In another part of the state, they found even more hidden weapons, including guns and hand grenades.
The National Investigation Agency also arrested a man named S Palal Kuki.
He is accused of throwing a bomb at a family's house in April.
That bomb sadly killed a 5-year-old boy and his baby sister, who was only 6 months old, and hurt their mother.
The police set up 111 checkpoints and are guarding the main road so trucks carrying food and other important things can travel safely.
The security forces are still working to keep people in Manipur safe.
Manipur Police and central forces, including Assam Rifles, arrested six militants from banned outfits in joint operations across the state.
The militants belong to the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), People's Liberation Army (PLA) and its political wing RPF, KYKL, and the United Kuki National Army (UKNA).
An AK series rifle, 9 mm pistols, a Baofeng radio, a Royal Enfield bike, Chinese hand grenades and ammunition were among the items recovered.
The NIA arrested S Palal Kuki, self-styled finance head of UKNA, over an April 7 IED attack on a home in Bishnupur district that killed two children.
Authorities set up 111 checkpoints and are providing armed escorts for vehicles on the Imphal-Jiribam National Highway (NH-37).
