Officials Halt Sale Of ₹1.5 Crore Ghee Stock In Indore
Food safety people in India stopped a big company from selling a type of butter called ghee.
The ghee was worth a lot of money, about one and a half crore rupees, which is a very big amount.
They want to make sure the ghee is safe for people to eat.
They took small samples of the ghee to test in a laboratory.
Until the test reports come back, the ghee cannot be sold.
This is part of a special check that started in July 2026 in Madhya Pradesh.
They are checking milk and things made from milk, like ghee, to keep them healthy and clean.
They also checked other foods like sweets, sugar and spices at several shops.
Once the test results are ready, the officials will decide what to do next.
Food safety officials stopped the sale of around 25,000 litres of Govardhan ghee worth nearly ₹1.5 crore at a depot on AB Road, Indore.
The Food Safety Department and an FSSAI team collected 20 ghee samples in different pack sizes for laboratory testing.
The action is part of a special campaign launched in Madhya Pradesh in July 2026 to check the quality of milk and milk-based products.
Officials also seized 312 litres of Gopishree brand ghee worth ₹1.24 lakh from Bhavanya Enterprises in the South Harshiddhi area.
Additional samples of paneer, curd, spices, gram flour, sweets, sugar and namkeen were collected from other establishments and sent for testing.
