FSSAI said these actions were part of a wider enforcement drive involving notices to food, online-shopping and restaurant businesses.
FSSAI suspended New Delhi-based Marche Retail Pvt Ltd’s licence for 30 days over serious food-safety and regulatory deficiencies.
Marche Retail was ordered to stop all food-business activities and correct problems involving sanitation, hygiene, training and record-keeping.
FSSAI prohibited Daman-based SDP Industries Pvt Ltd from selling all ghee variants made, stored or sold at its authorised premises.
Laboratory tests found A-sitosterol and non-conforming fatty-acid composition in SDP’s ghee, indicating possible foreign or vegetable fats.
FSSAI also reported more than 150 notices to food companies, 12 notices to e-commerce firms and over 30 notices to food-service establishments.
