Hyderabad: Kukatpally tops with 5,233 applications · thehansindia.com

The Telangana government has a plan to build 100,000 new homes for families who do not have much money.

This plan is called the Indiramma Housing scheme.

People who want a home can send in an application form.

So far, 35,125 people have applied for 7,340 flats in the Hyderabad area.

The most applications, 5,233, came from a place called Kukatpally.

The fewest, 471, came from a place called Maheshwaram.

Each family had to pay Rs 10,000 with their application, but that money will be given back if they do not get a home.

The homes are worth a lot of money, between Rs 30 lakh and Rs 58 lakh, but families can buy them for just Rs 6 lakh.

The deadline to apply is August 10, and a lucky draw will happen after August 20.

The government wants to finish building the homes within one year.
