DMK Challenges Electricity Minister Over Bill Complaints Claims
In Chennai, a DMK politician named S S Sivasankar said the electricity minister, R Nirmal Kumar, was ignoring complaints about high power bills.
The electricity board, led by Arun Roy, had actually said there were big differences in how much people used electricity.
The board plans to check 3.5 lakh homes again.
The minister said the number of people getting very high bills went down this year.
The DMK also said the government is not doing enough about water and school meals.

The state electricity board plans to re-inspect 3.5 lakh connections and conduct routine reassessments for 3.70 lakh consumers.
Minister Kumar says the number of consumers receiving double or triple bills dropped to 9.60 lakh this year from 11.50 lakh last year.
DMK also criticizes the government’s handling of the Cauvery water dispute and school meal scheme.
