Genesys International Wins Rs 283-Crore Ahmedabad 3D Digital Platform Contract
Genesys International will create a detailed 3D digital map of Ahmedabad.
The map will cover about 625 square kilometres of the city.
It will include roughly 25 lakh properties, roads, land and important public services.
Workers will also map underground water pipes, sewer lines, drains and cables.
Each property will receive a unique digital identity.
The project is funded through the World Bank.
It should take two-and-a-half years to build, followed by five years of maintenance.
Officials hope the map will help the city plan services and manage infrastructure more effectively.
Genesys International secured a Rs 283 crore World Bank-funded contract to develop Ahmedabad’s 3D GIS digital platform.
The project will digitally map about 625 square kilometres and approximately 25 lakh properties.
Mapped assets will include land parcels, roads, utilities, water networks, sewerage and stormwater infrastructure.
Underground infrastructure, including cables, will be surveyed with location and depth integrated into a central GIS database.
The project is scheduled for completion in two-and-a-half years, followed by five years of operation and maintenance.
