He spoke at a ceremony in Kolkata for five new expansion projects.

Three projects are connected to Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers.

Two more facilities belong to Yantra India Limited in Ishapore.

The two Ishapore facilities together will cost more than Rs 750 crore.

The total investment for all five projects is described as Rs 3,400 crore.

The projects are meant to help India make more defence equipment inside the country.

Singh also said they could support smaller businesses and create jobs in Bengal.
