Defence Minister Rajnath Singh started five new expansion projects in West Bengal.

The projects are worth Rs 3,420 crore.

Three will help Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers build and repair larger ships.

Two will be at a factory in Ishapore.

Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said Singh promised more investment in the state.

Adhikari also criticized earlier state governments for not working closely with the central government.

GRSE said it has launched 24 warships and delivered 22 since 2019.

After the expansion, it expects to build up to 32 ships or other platforms at the same time.
