Rs 345 crore loan waiver benefits 38,970 Pune farmers
The government of Maharashtra has a special program to help farmers who owe money on their loans.
This program is called the 'Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Shetkari Karjmukti Yojana 2026'.
Under this program, the government pays off the farmers' outstanding loans.
Recently, the first part of this help was given out.
Money was sent to the loan accounts of 38,970 farmers in Pune district.
The total amount given was Rs 345.25 crore, which is a very large sum.
The transfer happened on August 7 in Mumbai.
The Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, made the transfer digitally.
Only farmers who had completed Aadhaar authentication received the money.
This helps farmers start fresh without worrying about old debts.

A total of 38,970 farmers in Pune district benefited from the loan waiver.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis carried out the digital transfer at Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai on August 7.
The amounts were transferred directly to the loan accounts of eligible farmers who had completed Aadhaar authentication.
Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar and ministers Babasaheb Patil, Dattatray Bharne, and Girish Mahajan attended the event.
