Paper industry urged to embrace innovation, sustainability in Hyderabad
A special day called National Paper Day happened in Hyderabad, India.
Many people who make and sell paper came together for a meeting.
The meeting was held to talk about how to make paper better.
A government leader named Nikhil Chakravarthy spoke at the meeting.
He told them to try new ideas, help the environment, and make better paper products.
Some paper sellers also made a request to the government.
They want the special tax on paper to be smaller.
Right now, the tax is 18 rupees out of every 100 rupees.
They hope it can be just 5 rupees out of every 100 rupees.
They believe this will help paper businesses grow and keep prices low for everyone.
Hyderabad hosted a National Paper Day seminar at FTCCI, Red Hills, organised by the Federation of Paper Traders Association and Telangana Paper Merchants' Association.
Chief Guest Nikhil Chakravarthy, Director of Industries, Telangana, called on the paper trade to focus on innovation, sustainability and value-added manufacturing.
Chakravarthy cited TG-iPASS as proof of the state's ease of doing business.
TPMA's Abhishek Vijaywargiya and Ashish Jain Bhansali, FPTA's T. Kishan Singh and FTCCI President K.K. Maheshwari urged the Government to cut GST on paper products from 18% to 5%.
Industry leaders including Narendra Paruchuri of Pragati Offset attended the seminar.
