Telangana Sets Major Solar, Storage and Green Energy Targets

Telangana wants to produce much more electricity from the sun.

It plans to reach 20,000 megawatts of solar power by 2030 and more than 26,000 megawatts by 2035.

Because solar power is not produced equally all day, the state also wants large batteries and pumped-storage projects.

These systems would help save electricity and use it when needed.

Telangana also plans to make green hydrogen and build thousands of charging stations for electric vehicles.

The government wants companies to manufacture solar, wind and battery equipment in the state.

It is offering financial support and faster approvals to attract these companies.

Hyderabad’s technology sector will be used to create a smarter digital power grid.

A planned renewable plant will supply power to an AI data centre in a future development near Hyderabad.
