Delhi SIR Draft Roll Opens Claims Window for Missing Voters
Delhi has published a temporary voter list called the draft electoral roll.
About 47.5 lakh names are not on this list.
Officials said many of these people could not be confirmed during house-to-house checks, often because they were marked as having moved away.
Eligible people whose names are missing can ask to be added.
They must submit Form 6 with a declaration and documents proving their birth and residence.
Claims can be filed from August 31 to September 30.
People can submit the form online or give it to election officials.
The claims will be checked before the final list is released.
The final voter list is expected on November 4.
The draft Delhi electoral roll excludes 47,56,722 of 1,45,10,299 existing electors.
Voters can check their names through the Delhi CEO or Election Commission electoral search portals using an EPIC number or registered mobile number.
People missing from the draft can file Form 6 claims with a declaration and supporting documents between August 31 and September 30.
The excluded electors were classified as Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate and Others, with most marked as permanently shifted.
Claims will be examined through October 29, and the final electoral roll is scheduled for publication on November 4.
