Yogi says Modi as PM in 1947 would have prevented Partition
Long ago, in 1947, India was split into two countries, India and Pakistan, and many people were hurt and had to leave their homes.
That sad event is called the Partition.
A leader named Yogi Adityanath gave speeches about that time on Friday.
He said the Congress party was responsible for the split and the violence that followed.
He said that if the current prime minister, Narendra Modi, had been leading India back then, nobody could have harmed the country.
He also said a leader named Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel would have stopped India from being divided.
He said some areas, like Sindh and Punjab, were given to Pakistan even though Pakistan never asked for them.
He said Hindu villages in Bengal were given to Bangladesh.
He said the leaders back then cared too much about power and stayed silent when people suffered.

He said a prime minister like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel would have prevented India's disintegration, calling Congress members' 'cowardice' the reason the country paid a heavy price.
He alleged Pakistan received territories it never asked for, including Hindu- and Sindhi-dominated Sindh and Punjabi-dominated Punjab.
He claimed Hindu villages in Bengali-dominated Bengal were forcibly handed to Bangladesh, accusing the Congress of greed for power and betraying the nation's trust.
He spoke as India observed Partition Horrors Remembrance Day on August 14, saying the country still pays the price of past internal divisions 'in the form of terrorism and conspiracies.'
