Divide and rule policy led to Partition: Majhi

A long time ago, a big country called India was split into two countries, and this is called the Partition.

Many people had to leave their homes and move to a new country, which made many people very sad and hurt.

The leader of a place in India called Odisha, whose name is Mohan Charan Majhi, spoke to people about this.

He said the British government, which used to rule India, caused the split by making people fight with each other.

He also said that two groups called the Muslim League and the Congress made bad choices that helped cause the split.

Many, many people died, and many women were hurt during this time.

Some people who moved to India, like Milkha Singh who became a famous runner, did great things.

But Mr. Majhi said some people who moved to Pakistan were treated unfairly.

He asked everyone to remember this sad time and to promise to keep the country united and safe.
