Revanth Reddy to Inaugurate Indiramma Houses in KCR's Adopted Village
Telangana's leader, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, is going on a special week-long trip across his state.
He will visit a big dam and hold a prayer ceremony for rain, because the rains have been weak this year.
He will also give new homes to 143 families in a village called Vasalamarri.
Years ago, former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao promised these families new houses if they tore down their old, broken ones.
The families did that and waited, but the old BRS government never built the houses.
Now the Congress-led government has finished building 143 new houses for them.
Mr. Reddy will also start giving out new smart ration cards, which let families buy rice at lower prices.
The government says tens of millions more people in Telangana will now be covered by food help.
He will also begin new improvement work at a famous temple called Sammakka-Saralamma in Medaram, so it becomes nicer for visitors.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will tour Nalgonda, Yadadri-Bhongir, Sangareddy and Mulugu districts from August 10 to 16.
On August 13, he will hand over 143 Indiramma houses to beneficiaries in Vasalamarri, a village adopted by former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao in August 2021.
The previous BRS government failed to construct the 2BHK houses it promised after villagers demolished their old homes; the Congress government later sanctioned and completed the Indiramma houses.
On August 15, he will launch distribution of 1.05 crore smart ration cards, including 16.32 lakh newly sanctioned cards that bring 61.09 lakh additional people under the food security net.
On August 16, he will launch second-phase development works at the Sammakka-Saralamma temple in Medaram to improve pilgrimage infrastructure.
