Bharath Seeks Fast-Tracking of Rail Projects for AP Industrial Corridors
A minister from Andhra Pradesh asked the central government to quickly approve new train lines for industrial areas in the state.
He said these train lines are important for businesses to move goods and for the state to grow economically.
The minister talked about two main industrial areas, Orvakal and Krishnapatnam, and asked for new train tracks to connect them.
He also mentioned that these projects will create many jobs.
The central government's railway minister listened and said he would look into the requests.
The minister also asked for better train services for the Kurnool region, which is an important area in Andhra Pradesh.
T G Bharath, Andhra Pradesh's Industries and Commerce Minister, urged the Centre to fast-track railway projects for the state's industrial corridors.
He submitted a memorandum seeking early approval for railway projects linked to industrial nodes under the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC).
Priority was sought for improving rail connectivity to the Orvakal and Krishnapatnam Industrial Nodes.
The projects include a new railway chord line from Dupadu to Bethamcherla via Orvakal and a 53-km railway siding for the Orvakal Industrial Node.
The minister also requested a 12-km railway siding linking the Krishnapatnam Industrial Node with the Obulavaripalle-Krishnapatnam railway line.
