Extreme rain alert for Jharkhand as monsoon depression moves inland

The monsoon is a season of very heavy rain in India.

On Tuesday, August 18, a big rainstorm called a depression is moving across the country.

The storm started near the coast of West Bengal and Odisha and is heading inland.

Jharkhand will get the most rain, with more than 20 centimeters possible in some places.

That much rain can cause waterlogging and small floods, and it can slow down trains and cars.

Many other states, like Odisha, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, will also get very heavy rain.

Delhi will mostly be cloudy with a little light rain, and temperatures will be between 23 and 34 degrees Celsius.

Mumbai and the Konkan-Goa area will see widespread showers.

Fishermen were told to stay away from the northern Bay of Bengal because the sea is rough and winds are strong.

People in the rainy areas should be careful and watch for weather alerts.
