The Chhattisgarh government created a new online system for tribal people who collect tin ore in Bastar.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai launched the TIN Portal.

The portal records the journey of tin from collection to sale and payment.

Collectors can use digital identities, smart cards and QR codes.

The system can also send information about transactions and payments by SMS.

It connects banks and government offices to help payments happen more clearly and quickly.

Tin prices will be based on international London Metal Exchange prices.

The government says this will help collectors understand the value of their tin and receive fairer information.

Three more procurement centres may be opened in addition to the existing six.
