India’s monsoon is bringing rain to many states.

Odisha and Chhattisgarh are among the places facing the greatest risk of very heavy rain.

Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Gangetic West Bengal may also get heavy rain.

Delhi could see a short spell of rain and thunderstorms on Tuesday afternoon or evening.

More rain is expected in Delhi, Haryana and Punjab from September 3 to 5.

Mumbai and Kolkata may remain wet too.

Some southern cities, including Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai, could get showers and strong winds.

Very heavy rain may flood low-lying areas and disrupt roads and trains.

The Konkan and Goa region is forecast to receive widespread rainfall through September 6.
Wind risk
Parts of Telangana may see winds of 30-40 kmph with gusts up to 50 kmph; Tamil Nadu may see winds of 40-50 kmph with stronger gusts.
Potential impacts
Waterlogging, flooding in low-lying areas, road and rail disruption, and flash floods are possible in vulnerable locations.
