Telangana's first all-women police band unveiled in Malkajgiri

In the Indian state of Telangana, a place called Malkajgiri has made a brand-new police band.

What is special about it?

It is the very first police band made only of women police officers.

Eleven women are in the band, and they play music together.

The women practiced for nine whole months to learn how to play instruments.

They learned to play the saxophone, trumpet, bass drum and side drum.

They also learned to sing songs in Hindi, Telugu and Western languages.

The band got three new special uniforms, including a fancy black-and-white one for parades.

During their first show, the band played patriotic songs and everyone appreciated it.

The police also gave medals to 83 other officers for doing great work on special national days.
