15 Telangana Police Officers Receive Gallantry, Meritorious Service Medals

Every year, the government gives special medals to brave people who help keep the country safe.

On Independence Day, the government announced who would get these medals this time.

Some police officers from a place called Telangana got medals for being very brave.

Their bravery medals are called Gallantry Medals.

Other officers got medals for doing their jobs very well for a long time.

Those are called Medals for Meritorious Service.

A few very special officers got a bigger award called the President's Medal for Distinguished Service.

Firefighters and home guards, who help during emergencies, also got medals.

Around one thousand people across the whole country received medals this year.

Getting a medal is a big honor that shows someone worked hard and helped others.
