Delhi LG Warns Partition Could Be Reduced To Dates

Partition Horrors Remembrance Day is a special day for remembering a sad event in India's past called Partition.

A Delhi leader named Sandhu spoke on this day about keeping its memory alive.

He said many people arrived in Delhi after Partition with almost nothing.

Those people worked hard, rebuilt their lives, and helped make Delhi stronger.

He pointed to neighbourhoods like Lajpat Nagar and Punjabi Bagh, which were shaped through their efforts.

Sandhu said these refugees added to Delhi's economy, society, and culture in lasting ways.

But he warned that many Partition stories are still only known inside families.

He worries that, over time, Partition could become just numbers and dates.

He wants families to share their stories with younger children.

That way, everyone can understand Partition through the lives of the millions who lived through it.
