Chhattisgarh CM says youth must learn Partition horrors for unity
A long time ago, in 1947, a very sad event happened in India called Partition.
Many people had to leave their homes and move to new places.
Some people lost their loved ones and everything they owned.
The leader of a state in India called Chhattisgarh gave a speech about remembering that sad time.
His name is Vishnu Deo Sai.
He said it is very important for children and young people to learn about this sad part of history.
He thinks learning about it will help keep the country united and peaceful.
He said we should remember the past so that something this sad never happens again.
A special day called Partition Horrors Remembrance Day is observed every year on August 14.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said future generations must learn about the 'massive human tragedy' of Partition to strengthen national unity.
Sai spoke at a 'Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas' event held on August 14 in Raipur.
He said displaced people rebuilt their lives through hard work and made significant contributions to the country's development.
Sai noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to observe August 14 as 'Partition Horrors Remembrance Day'.
Sai took part in a silent march from the Directorate of Archaeology office to Ambedkar Chowk to pay tribute to Partition victims.
