Delhi Government Pursues New IGDTUW Campus in Narela Education Hub
Delhi’s government wants to help build a new campus for a women’s technical university in Narela.
The university is called Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women, or IGDTUW.
The new campus could let more than 1,000 students study there.
Students could come from Delhi and other parts of India.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced the plan at a university ceremony.
She encouraged the students to follow their dreams.
Education Minister Ashish Sood said technology education can help women challenge old ideas about what they can do.
A booklet about the university and its achievements was also released.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the government is working to provide IGDTUW a new campus in Narela’s proposed education hub.
The campus is intended to allow more than 1,000 students from Delhi and across India to study at the university.
Gupta made the announcement at IGDTUW’s induction programme-2026 valedictory ceremony on August 27.
IGDTUW was established in 2013 and was described as Asia’s first government-run women’s technical university.
