Some people get sick and their kidneys stop working well.

When that happens, doctors use a machine to clean their blood, which is called dialysis.

A government programme in India called the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme pays for this treatment so people don't have to pay.

The state of Andhra Pradesh just added two new places where people can get free dialysis.

That brings the total number of dialysis centres in the state to 61.

The news was shared in the Rajya Sabha, one of India's Parliament houses.

A health minister, Prataprao Jadhav, gave the update when answering a lawmaker's question.

Across India, there are about 1,856 dialysis centres with around 13,535 machines, and the treatment is free everywhere.

New centres are opened where the government sees that people need them the most.
