MP Ashok Mittal Calls for National Commission for Men
A report looked at news stories about men who were killed by wives or partners, and men who died by suicide.
It found hundreds of reported cases in 2024 and 2025.
The report was presented at an event in Chandigarh.
Ashok Kumar Mittal said these numbers show that men’s problems also need attention.
He said this should not become a fight between men and women.

The report recorded 277 husband or intimate-partner suicide cases in 2024 and 426 in 2025.
The figures were compiled from media reports and were presented as evidence of the need for better data on men’s issues.
