UGC NET Answer Keys on Hold for English, Commerce, Sociology
In India, many students take a big test called UGC NET to become eligible to teach at colleges and universities.
After the test, the people who run it release an answer key, which is a list of the correct answers.
This helps students check how well they did.
Recently, answer keys came out for most of the test's subjects.
But for three subjects - English, Commerce, and Sociology - the answer keys were not released yet.
Some people said there might be mistakes in the questions.
So a special group of experts was asked to look at the complaints carefully.
Students who think a correct answer is wrong can also say so for a few days, as long as they show evidence.
After checking everything, the final answer key will be announced.
Until then, students are being told to save their answer sheets, question papers, and answer keys.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) released provisional UGC NET June 2026 answer keys on August 16 for 84 of the 87 subjects.
Answer keys for English, Commerce, and Sociology papers were put on hold pending a committee review.
A committee has been constituted to examine complaints about various types of errors in the question papers of these three subjects.
NTA said a separate public notice concerning the three subjects will be issued later today based on the committee's recommendations.
Candidates can challenge answers during the objection window from August 16 to 18, 2026.
