Delhi High Court Seeks Responses on University Hostel Facilities PIL
HC seeks reply on DU hostel PIL · thehansindia.com

A petitioner asked the Delhi High Court to improve hostel facilities for Delhi University students.

The request covers colleges connected to or run by the university.

The case was filed after a building used as paying guest housing collapsed in Satya Niketan.

Several college students died and others were hurt in that collapse.

The court sent notices to the Union Government, Delhi Government and Delhi University.

This means the authorities must explain their positions to the court.

The judges said the University Grants Commission should not remain a party in this case.

The petitioner must update the list of parties within one week.

The court will consider the matter again on September 25.
