The Election Commission is the group that makes voting lists in India.

A voting list tells who is allowed to vote.

The Commission is updating the list in Karnataka, a big state in India.

The work was not finished in time, so the Commission gave nine extra days.

The new last day is August 17.

People who help voters were worried that some voters might be left off the list.

Only about eight out of ten forms had been typed into the computer.

In some parts of Bengaluru, the biggest city, only about half the work was done.

Voters can check the new list and point out mistakes starting August 24.

The final voting list will be ready by October 27.
