A land ownership disagreement arose in Bhayandar involving a company linked to former BJP MLA Narendra Mehta.

Asgar Ali Vhora complained that the land had been illegally occupied.

He followed up with officials and later met Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the matter.

The Revenue Department removed the company’s name from the land record.

However, the municipal building permission had not yet been cancelled.

Seven Eleven then gave up its building permission and asked for its fees back.

The company said it had bought the land properly and had received approval.

It also asked police to withdraw a trespassing case, saying the sides had reached a settlement.
