BJP-Linked Firm Surrenders Permit After Modi Schoolmate's Appeal
Firm linked to BJP MLA backs down, PM’s ‘schoolmate’ gets land back · theprint.in

Asgarali Vohra is an 81-year-old man who says he went to school with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He owns a large plot of land in Bhayander East, Maharashtra.

Vohra says two companies took over or used the land without his permission.

One of the companies, Seven Eleven Construction, has now given up its building permit for the plot.

It also asked officials to cancel the permission and return its fees.

A police complaint against Vohra and his associate is reportedly being withdrawn.

Vohra met Modi and asked for a Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry.

The reports describe this as major relief, but they do not establish that ownership of the land has been finally transferred back to Vohra.
