Siliguri HNAF team summits 6,210-metre Mount Kangyarrag in Ladakh
A group of adventurers climbed a very tall mountain in Ladakh called Mount Kangyarrag, which is 6,210 metres high.
The five climbers came from the Himalayan Nature and Adventure Foundation, an adventure club based in Siliguri.
They started the trip on July 24 and made their first attempt on August 5, but bad weather sent them back to camp.
They tried again on the night of August 6, and one member, Kajal Kumar Dutta, stayed at camp because of a leg cramp.
The other four climbed through the cold, dark night for eleven hours.
At 10.40pm on Friday, they finally stood on top of the mountain.
Then they walked back down and reached their camp safely by 4.30pm.
This was the club's eleventh mountain expedition since 1993, and its first in about fifteen years.

The expedition began on July 24, and the first summit attempt on August 5 was abandoned due to inclement weather.
A second attempt began on August 6 around 11pm, when Kajal Kumar Dutta stayed back at the base camp because of a cramp.
After an arduous 11-hour ascent through the night, four members stood on the summit at 10.40pm on Friday.
The team descended safely and returned to base camp by 4.30pm; it was HNAF's 11th expedition since 1993 and its first in around 15 years.
