Indian Army Sets Mount Kun Summit Record Ahead of Everest Expedition
A team of 27 Indian Army soldiers climbed a very tall mountain called Mount Kun.
Mount Kun is 7,077 metres high.
All 27 soldiers reached the top on the same day, which was a new record.
No team that big had ever summited Mount Kun in just one day before.
The soldiers unfurled the National Flag at the summit.
Climbing was very hard because of freezing weather, icy walls, slippery glaciers and places where snow could fall suddenly.
The team was led by Lieutenant Colonel Jay Prakash Kumar.
A senior general, Lieutenant General Sandeep Jain, praised the soldiers for their courage and teamwork.
The climb was practice for an even harder adventure, climbing Mount Everest, planned for 2027.

The achievement set a record for the highest number of members of a single team to summit Mount Kun in a single day.
The team was led by Lieutenant Colonel Jay Prakash Kumar and comprised three officers, eight JCOs and 16 Other Ranks.
The climbers faced extreme weather, heavily glaciated terrain, steep ice walls and avalanche-affected routes.
The expedition is part of preparations for the Indian Army's maiden Everest Massif Expedition, scheduled for 2027.
