Priyanka Gandhi urges students to learn Constitutional values, equality
In a small village called Deori in Himachal Pradesh, India, there is a school.
In August 2023, very heavy rain caused floods, and the school building was completely washed away.
The people of the village and the government worked together to build a brand-new school.
When classes started in the new building, students got a special message from a leader named Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
She told them they are the future of India and should learn about the Constitution, equality, and brotherhood.
She wanted to visit the school in person, but the weather was bad, so she could not come.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu spoke to the students over a video call and said she will meet them in September.
Villagers even donated land for the new school, and the Chief Minister gave Rs one lakh to support the school.
The students danced and sang in a cultural programme to celebrate their new school.
Now the children of Deori have a safe place to study again.
Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra called students the future of India and urged them to learn Constitutional values, equality, and the spirit of brotherhood.
Her message was read out at a function marking the start of classes at the newly constructed Government Senior Secondary School in Deori, Mandi district.
The school building was completely washed away in heavy rains and floods on August 14, 2023.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, addressing the function virtually, said Gandhi would meet the students in September.
The new senior secondary school building was built at a cost of Rs 3.62 crore, and residents donated more than one bigha of land for the school.
