Nitin Gadkari urges children to transform 'swarajya' to 'surajya'

A very important person in the Indian government, called a minister, is Mr. Nitin Gadkari.

He talked to children at a special patriotic event in a city called Nagpur.

At the event, everyone recited a famous patriotic song called 'Vande Mataram'.

Mr. Gadkari told the children that India became free a long time ago through the sacrifices of many people.

He said children should grow up to be good and responsible citizens.

If they do, he said, the country can become even better and have good governance.

He said we should use our freedom to make things fair and good for everyone.

He also shared exciting news about the big Independence Day celebration on August 15.

This year, for the very first time, people will recite 'Vande Mataram' at the Red Fort before singing the National Anthem.
