Rajnath Singh Urges DPSUs to Deliver Faster, Lead Globally
India’s Defence Minister met leaders of 16 government-owned defence companies.
He praised them for helping India make more defence equipment inside the country.
He said the companies should deliver products on time and depend less on imports.
He also asked them to sell more products to other countries.
Their equipment should be as good as products made anywhere in the world.
The minister said research should produce useful technologies, inventions and working equipment.
He also said the companies need strong supplies and repair abilities during wars.
Seven companies gave the government dividend cheques worth Rs 3,951 crore.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reviewed the annual performance of all 16 DPSUs in New Delhi.
He credited DPSUs with contributing approximately Rs 1.29 lakh crore to India’s Rs 1.8 lakh crore defence production in 2025-26.
Singh urged the companies to reduce imports, improve delivery timelines, increase exports and meet global quality standards.
He called for stronger supply chains, critical-spares availability, rapid repairs and sustained production during prolonged conflicts.
Seven DPSUs presented dividend cheques totaling Rs 3,951 crore, while four publications on self-reliance and innovation were released.
