India's defence exports surge to Rs 38,424 crore: Rajnath Singh

India is a country in Asia.

The person in charge of India's military equipment, Rajnath Singh, shared exciting news before Independence Day.

India makes and sells military equipment, like weapons and defence tools, to other countries.

In the last year, India sold military equipment worth Rs 38,424 crore, which is a huge amount of money.

Back in 2013-14, India only sold military equipment worth Rs 686 crore.

That means exports grew by more than 5,500 per cent in about ten years.

India is now making more of its own equipment instead of depending on imports.

The government also approved big projects worth more than Rs 8.75 lakh crore to modernise the military.

Mr. Singh said India has become an emerging power in global defence manufacturing.
