Israeli leaders Herzog, Netanyahu greet India on 80th Independence Day
Every year on August 15, India celebrates the day it became an independent country a long time ago.
This year, India celebrated its 80th Independence Day.
Two leaders from the country of Israel, President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, sent happy messages to India.
They said India and Israel are good friends.
Netanyahu wrote on the social media site X that the two countries' innovation and friendship are 'boundless' and that 'the best is yet to come'.
He also reminded everyone that India and Israel became independent countries just one year apart.
In Israel, more than 400 people from India gathered in the city of Herzliya to celebrate.
India's ambassador to Israel, J P Singh, raised the Indian flag.
The crowd sang Vande Mataram, a special Indian song that is 150 years old.
It was a joyful day of friendship between two countries.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said India and Israel achieved independence one year apart and called their innovation and friendship 'boundless', adding 'the best is yet to come'.
Netanyahu posted his greeting on X shortly after the end of Sabbath on Saturday evening, as official communiques are generally put on hold in Israel during the Sabbath.
More than 400 Indians gathered in Herzliya, Israel, where Ambassador J P Singh hoisted the Tricolour and the ceremony began with the singing of Vande Mataram, marking its 150th anniversary.
Over 40,000 Indians are estimated to be working in various sectors of the Israeli economy, and community groups planned celebrations across the country, including a function by the Bhartiya Gorkha Association of Israel in Tel Aviv.
