Hyundai India targets 1 million connected car sales by 2027
Hyundai makes cars in India, and many of those cars are 'connected' — they can talk to the internet, their owners, and even other cars.
Hyundai said it has already sold more than eight hundred thousand connected cars in India.
Now the company wants to sell one million connected cars by 2027 and two million by 2030.
The Indian government also wants cars to be safer on the road.
It has proposed a rule that new cars made after October 2028 must be able to talk to each other.
This is called vehicle-to-vehicle, or V2V, communication.
If one car brakes suddenly, it can warn the cars behind it.
The technology can also warn drivers about dangers like crashes or approaching emergency vehicles.
Hyundai's connected car system is called Bluelink, and it offers features like remote commands, location tracking, and safety help.
It has helped many drivers in emergencies and even helped police find stolen vehicles.
So, connected cars are becoming a big part of driving in India.
Hyundai Motor India announced it is targeting cumulative sales of 1 million connected cars by 2027, having already crossed 0.8 million.
Connected vehicle adoption in Hyundai's India portfolio rose five-fold from 4 per cent in 2019 to 20 per cent in 2026.
India's Ministry of Road Transport and Highways proposed a draft framework requiring V2V systems conforming to AIS-230 in vehicles manufactured from October 2028.
Hyundai's Bluelink platform offers more than 70 connected features and over 450 AI-powered voice commands across five languages.
Hyundai aims to cross 2 million cumulative connected car sales by 2030 and will offer next-generation connected-car technology as standard on its upcoming mass-market electric SUV.
Bluelink has assisted over 0.5 million motorists through SOS and roadside assistance and supported around 15,000 crash notification interventions.
