Farmer’s Hydro Lift Device Wins President’s Grassroots Innovation Award
Pampana Srinivas is a farmer who built a machine called Hydro Lift.
It uses the force of moving water to pump water uphill.
The machine does not need electricity, diesel or petrol.
This could help farmers who struggle to get water in hilly places.
The current version can lift water about 30 feet.
It can move nearly 2.5 million litres of water each day.

Pampana Srinivas from Kaikavolu developed a Hydro Lift device that raises water using the kinetic energy of flowing water.
The device operates without electricity, diesel or petrol and was tested at the Vetlapalem check dam.
Its current model can lift water 30 feet and reportedly move nearly 2.5 million litres daily.
Srinivas received recognition from President Droupadi Murmu among 26 grassroots innovators selected nationwide.
He plans to upgrade the device to lift water 100 feet and generate 10 KW of electricity after completing the patent process.
