Nellore Deputy Mayor Rebuts YSRC Waste Management Allegations
Nellore’s deputy mayor rejected claims by the YSR Congress about problems in the state’s waste programme.
He said the claims were politically motivated.

He also said waste at the Allipuram yard had been completely cleared.

Deputy Mayor P. Roop Kumar Yadav called YSR Congress allegations about waste-management irregularities baseless and politically motivated.
He said 1.58 crore tonnes of waste had been removed from 123 municipalities, with nearly 92% of the work completed.
He said all 80,000 tonnes at the Allipuram dumping yard had been cleared and seven lakh of eight lakh tonnes at Dontali had undergone bio-mining.
Yadav said waste-to-energy plants were being expedited in five major cities, including Nellore, after none were commissioned during the YSRC’s 2019–24 tenure.
He announced plans for an adventure park at the cleared Allipuram site and said the renovated RSR School would reopen on September 16.
