Nellore’s deputy mayor rejected claims by the YSR Congress about problems in the state’s waste programme.

He said the claims were politically motivated.

He reported that large amounts of waste had been removed from municipalities.

He also said waste at the Allipuram yard had been completely cleared.

Much of the waste at the Dontali yard had reportedly been treated through bio-mining.

He said new waste-to-energy plants were being developed in five cities.

The deputy mayor also discussed improvements to corporation schools in Nellore.

He announced plans to build an adventure park at the cleared Allipuram site.
