Collector Says Electoral Notices Do Not Mean Vote Deletion
Officials in Vijayawada are checking voter-list information through a process called the Special Intensive Revision.
Some voters received notices asking them to take part in an inquiry.
The Collector said receiving a notice does not mean a person’s name has been removed.
Officials will check the facts before making any decision.
So far, 1,88,769 notices have been issued.
Inquiries have been completed for 61,284 cases.
Some other inquiries are being rescheduled so voters get another chance to respond.
People who are eligible but not registered can use Form-6 to apply.
NTR district Collector Dr G Lakshmisha said SIR notices do not mean a voter’s name has been deleted.
He described the notices as part of a transparent process to verify electoral-roll details.
Officials have issued 1,88,769 notices, with inquiries completed in 61,284 cases.
The schedules for 64,252 cases expired and are being rescheduled to allow verification.
Eligible unregistered citizens can apply for enrollment using Form-6, while Forms-7 and 8 are also available.
