Erdogan Signals Egypt May Join Turkey-Saudi-Pakistan Defence Pact

Some important countries made a new promise to protect one another.

Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan signed an agreement in the holy city of Mecca.

The deal means that if someone attacks one of these countries, the others will treat it as an attack on all of them.

This works a little bit like NATO, a big group of countries that help each other stay safe.

Turkey's president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, told a news channel that Egypt might join the group next.

Egypt has a very large army, so joining would make the group stronger.

Egyptian leaders already helped plan the agreement for several months.

Each country brings a special strength: Pakistan has nuclear weapons, Saudi Arabia has lots of money, and Turkey has advanced military technology.

The group's main office will be in Saudi Arabia, and its goal is to keep the region stable and peaceful.
