Minority Rights Committee to distribute flags to one lakh homes
Every year, countries celebrate a special day called Independence Day to remember when they became free.
In a place called Kondapalli in Andhra Pradesh, a group of leaders held a special event for this day.
They gathered at an old and historic shrine called the Hazrat Syed Shah Bukhari Dargah.
A leader named Mohammed Farooq Shubli spoke at the event.
He said the Muslim community always stands with the nation and is ready to protect it.
The group also started a campaign with a special slogan that means 'for the country, for the faith'.
As part of this campaign, they plan to give national flags to one lakh families.
One lakh is another way of saying one hundred thousand families.
The flags will be shared across 65 assembly constituencies in the state.
In one area called Mylavaram, they will give flags to 5,000 families.
Andhra Pradesh Urdu Academy chairman Mohammed Farooq Shubli spoke at a national flag distribution programme in Kondapalli on Independence Day.
The event was organised by the Minority Rights Protection Committee at the historic Hazrat Syed Shah Bukhari Dargah.
Shubli said the Muslim community has always stood by the nation and is ready to make sacrifices for its protection, integrity and unity.
The committee launched a statewide campaign under the slogan 'Desam Kosam–Dharmam Kosam'.
