India's non-fossil fuel power capacity crosses 300 GW
India is a big country that needs lots of electricity for lights, fans, and machines.
Most electricity is made by burning things like coal, which can hurt the environment.
But India is also making electricity from cleaner sources, like the sun, wind, and water.
These are called non-fossil fuel sources because they don't use coal, oil, or gas.
India just passed a very big number: 300 GW of clean electricity capacity.
GW stands for gigawatt, a unit to measure how much power we can make.
A government minister named Pralhad Joshi shared this happy news.
He said India is adding clean energy very fast.
In just six months, India added a huge amount of new capacity.
India wants to reach 500 GW of clean energy by 2030, and the minister says it is on track.
India's non-fossil fuel electricity generation capacity has crossed the 300 GW mark.
Union minister Pralhad Joshi announced the milestone at the 7th CII International Energy Conference & Exhibition in New Delhi.
India is on track to achieve its target of 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
Between January and June, 30.58 GW of non-fossil fuel-based generation capacity was added.
The capacity added in the first six months was 25 per cent higher than in the same period last year.
