MCD Carries Out 40 Demolitions, Seals Eight Properties
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi is checking buildings across the city for safety and rule violations.
On Monday, it demolished parts of 40 properties.
It also sealed eight properties so they cannot be used normally.
Officials issued 14 more demolition orders.
The actions involved buildings accused of breaking construction rules or being dangerous.
The MCD had also carried out demolitions and sealing operations the day before.
Separately, officials are surveying buildings that operate as paying guest accommodations.
They have identified about 2,453 such buildings and will decide what to do after completing inspections.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi carried out 40 demolition actions across all 12 zones on Monday.
The civic body sealed eight properties and issued 14 demolition orders for building violations.
The action targeted dangerous buildings, unauthorised construction and breaches of the Master Plan of Delhi and Building Bye-Laws.
Major operations took place in areas including Pandav Nagar, East Patel Nagar, Karol Bagh, Nehru Nagar and Naraina Industrial Area.
The MCD has identified about 2,453 buildings operating paying guest facilities as part of an ongoing compliance survey.
