Delhi Civic Body Inspects PG Buildings, Seals 54 Chandni Shops
Delhi officials are checking buildings where people live as paying guests.
They inspected 1,355 such buildings, where about 27,000 people stay.
The checks began after a building used as a paying guest accommodation collapsed in Satya Niketan.
Seven people died in that collapse.
Officials also sealed 54 shops in Chandni Chowk.
They said the shops were illegally using basements for business and lacked required clearances.
The civic body carried out 41 demolition actions and sealed 61 properties across the city.
Officials will decide what to do next after studying the inspection results.
