MCD Demolishes 67 Properties After Satya Niketan Building Collapse
'Satya Niketan Aftermath': MCD Razes 67 Unauthorised Properties, Seals 9 Structures In Massive 48-Hour Blitz · news18.com

Delhi’s civic agency, the MCD, carried out a large enforcement operation against unsafe or unauthorized buildings.

Over two days, it demolished 67 properties and sealed nine more.

Officials also warned 35 properties and ordered four others to be demolished.

The action followed the collapse of a five-storey paying guest building in Satya Niketan.

Seven people died in that collapse, most of them students.

The MCD then checked more than 1,200 paying guest facilities across Delhi.

Three buildings were found to be critically dangerous, while many others needed repairs.

The agency is also watching 26 high-rise structures closely.

Officials say demolitions and sealings will continue.
