MCD Official Arrested Over Alleged ₹10,000 Pension Bribe
A retired sanitation worker was waiting for his pension and other retirement money.
His son said an office worker kept asking them for money to release those benefits.
The worker allegedly asked for ₹70,000 in total.
The son contacted the Anti-Corruption Branch for help.
Investigators checked the complaint and planned a meeting.
During that meeting, the worker allegedly accepted ₹10,000.
Officers then arrested him and a case was registered.
Another person’s possible role is also being examined.
The Anti-Corruption Branch arrested MCD dealing assistant Sanjay for allegedly accepting a ₹10,000 bribe.
The alleged payment was linked to releasing pension funds and retirement benefits owed to a retired sanitation worker.
The complainant, Jitender, said his father Shalek Chand’s benefits remained unpaid after his retirement on September 30, 2024.
The ACB said Sanjay had allegedly demanded ₹70,000 and accepted ₹10,000 as an instalment during a monitored meeting.
Sanjay was sent to 14 days of judicial custody, while the role of another person, Saket, is being investigated.
