A new drinking water project has started in Macherla.

Leaders placed a foundation stone and displayed a project marker called a pylon.

The project is expected to cost ₹153.47 crore.

It aims to bring Krishna water to every home in Macherla.

The money will come from two government funding programs, AMRUT 2.0 and UIDF.

Officials also discussed improving irrigation water supplies.

They said the Varikapudisela project would finally move forward after many years of waiting.

Other plans include an industrial park, new schools and tourism development at Nagarjuna Sagar.
