Foundation Laid for ₹153 Crore Macherla Water Project
A new drinking water project has started in Macherla.
Leaders placed a foundation stone and displayed a project marker called a pylon.
The project is expected to cost ₹153.47 crore.
It aims to bring Krishna water to every home in Macherla.
The money will come from two government funding programs, AMRUT 2.0 and UIDF.
Officials also discussed improving irrigation water supplies.
They said the Varikapudisela project would finally move forward after many years of waiting.
Other plans include an industrial park, new schools and tourism development at Nagarjuna Sagar.
M. P. Lavu Sri Krishnadevarayalu and Macherla MLA Julakanti Brahmananda Reddy laid the foundation stone for a drinking water project.
The project is estimated to cost ₹153.47 crore and will use AMRUT 2.0 and UIDF funds.
Officials said the project aims to provide Krishna water to every household in Macherla.
The government is also addressing irrigation and drinking water problems through the Varikapudisela project, Jal Jeevan Mission and AMRUT schemes.
Plans mentioned for Macherla include a 500-acre industrial park, educational institutions and developing Nagarjuna Sagar as a tourist destination.
